We had a pretty good day at the shop today. We got the frame lined with the plumb bobs.

Plumb bob showed that we were a 1/4" off center. We got it centered up and locked down and commenced to cutting off all the unnecessary shit.
We started off by scavenging the unusable stuff and using it as a cross brace.

Support brace all tacked in to support the side uprights. Now time to hack off the rear section!

Time to bust out the grinder to clean up the welds and gussets that services are no longer needed.
Holly crap! Sparks are flying out of my head!!!

Once the grinding was done, we used electrical conduit to figure out all our bends. Glad we did being that we had to go back to the drawing board after our first bend...

Portaband is my new favorite toy! Here Jared shows us it ease of use.

While I was grinding, Jared decided to jump start my boys with their welding school. Here he is teaching Strider (13) how to arc weld.

As usual Gavin (11) picked up on it quick!

Back to the build: Once we got the conduit cut and bent the way we liked it we moved onto the tubing. But found that there was a mix up at Barber Metals and they mistakenly gave us the wrong tubing. The O.D. was .06" to big and wouldn't fit into the bender. So after a OCC style argument between me and Jared we jumped in the truck and headed to Barber Metals to get the problem fixed. They were totally cool about it and said that they will have the right tubing in the morning. They kick ass! I highly recommend them if your building a bike and live in Utah county.
